I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who specializes in helping individuals challenged by substance use and mental health conditions. I provide a safe environment, centered on trust, where my clients can grow, explore, and reach their full potential. I take a compassionate, client-centered approach that is empathetic and non-judgmental and helps my clients to feel both supported and encouraged in the changes they strive to make in their lives. We will work together to accomplish your therapy goals and to give you tools to help empower you to navigate and manage the challenges and opportunities you find in your life.
I graduated from Troy State University with a Master’s in Counseling in Psychology and was first licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida before moving to Austin in 2001. I have over 15 years of experience in both the mental health and substance use fields. I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and crisis centers. I serve adults who struggle with various challenges, such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, substance use and addiction, PTSD, stress management, self-esteem issues and others. I use an eclectic approach with incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Client-Centered, Relational and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. I am also being trained in EMDR. I provide therapy in both virtually and in person at our Congress Avenue location. My hobbies are reading, watching movies, dance, and spending time with my family.
