David Robbins, LPC, LCDC

Life circumstances, especially those involving the pandemic, have become more and more complicated. Stress, grief, family problems, depression, mania, substance use, and other issues, can cause a multitude of other complicated mental health problems encompassing many, if not all facets of life. If you are experiencing difficulty coping with increasing stress, conflict in your work or personal life, personal substance use or in your family, your own substance using issues, or the grief due to loss, including jobs or loved ones, I am here to listen and offer direction.

I have worked as a counselor with a previous focus on substance use and co-occurring issues for over 20 years. I have practiced in outpatient and inpatient settings.  I have experience working with clients from diverse cultures and walks of life with interpersonal conflicts, grief issues, difficulty managing symptoms of various mental health conditions, and stress management problems, providing coping skills to manage circumstances in life. My theoretical orientation is predominately Cognitive-Behavior Therapy though also have enjoyed supporting individuals to improve the quality of their lives through Existential and Family Systems work as well. I am EMDR trained, and have practiced this using virtual therapy.
