Andrew Brandt, MA, LPC

am a compassionate and driven Mental Health Therapist with an intimate understanding of mental illnesses and the impact on an individual’s life.  I have extensive knowledge of how to manage symptoms associated with mental illness through the combined use of various treatment modalities and psychiatric medication.  I prefer to utilize empirically supported cognitive behavioral therapy coupled with dialectical behavioral therapy techniques during counseling sessions in order to best help the client that I am working with.  I am a strong believer in the benefits of the practice of Mindfulness.  I received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and later obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University.  I am currently credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and Texas.  One of my greatest passions is music and I take every opportunity I can to take in whatever music Austin has to offer.  I am also a firm believer in the benefits of exercise on one's mental health and am adamant in maintaining a strong exercise regimen.  I also love hiking and being in the beautiful outdoors.  If I am not outdoors you can find me cheering on my favorite sports teams - the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
